Welcome you to
The Folkestone Inn!

"We knew from the very first moment we arrived in Bryson City that this was where we wanted to be. Together we have over half a century of culinary and hospitality experience and we are excited to bring to the Inn our passion for hospitality and a philosophy of locally and responsibly sourced ingredients that result in fantastic tasting and creative dishes." (Read about us)

Casual and beautifully maintained, our Smoky Mountain Bed and Breakfast is filled with old-fashioned charm (no TVs) but yet has most of the necessary modern amenities (private baths with clawfoot tubs with showers, free wi-fi, hairdryers). The Inn offers three floors of guest rooms each with a distinct personality and thoughtfully decorated by the owners — from upstairs rooms with private balconies and mountain vistas, to romantic ground floor rooms with flagstone floors and low pressed-tin ceilings.

You can either relax on the beautiful front porch and enjoy the flora and fauna, or you can walk about 10 minutes to pristine waterfalls, hiking, fishing or tubing down Deep Creek. Or take a short ride and enjoy one of the most beautiful scenic drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Nearby Bryson City is home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, arts and crafts galleries, antique shops and a surprising variety of restaurants for a small mountain town. Just down the road you’ll find rafting on the Nantahala River, zip line your way through the Gorge, mountain biking Tsali trails, fishing and boating on Fontana Lake, hiking any of the miles of trails in the Smokies, and great scenic drives like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway or The Dragon.

For your complimentary breakfast enjoy Café Cartago coffee with specialties such as omelets with fresh vegetables from our organic garden, pancakes with fresh local blueberries, and French toast stuffed with bananas and walnuts. A light breakfast (fresh fruit and cereal) is available with advance notice. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am unless otherwise notified.

At our Inn, we take pride in our bountiful gourmet breakfasts. We use real eggs, dairy, breakfast meats and sugar. Please notify us in advance of any dietary allergies or restrictions.

The Folkestone Inn is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted on property or in our public areas, which includes outside public areas as well.

The Folkestone Inn is one hour west of Asheville, just three hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, and two hours from Greenville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

From Our Guest Book

""We arrived to find new owners Toni and Scott settling in and already making their mark. Toni was warm and welcoming and Scott was making magic in the Kitchen; fab cookies in the afternoon and AMAZING breakfasts. On our first morning we had to leave before breakfast time and to our pleasure Toni and Scott got things going early, I can still smell the pumpkin muffins if I close my eyes. The inn was extremely clean and cozy and our fellow guests of varying ages and hometowns were good company over 5:00 o'clock complimentary wine. We visited to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and hike in the Smoky Mountains and Folkestone is perfect for both."
