Lights and Shadows is a bright and airy corner room upstairs, with an antique queen bed, balcony and reading nook. French doors open to a balcony with a view to the east, across Deep Creek valley, with a backdrop of the Smoky Mountains foothills. The room is decorated with a collection of old cameras and inspired by the thousands of "photographic moments" that the Great Smoky Mountains provide. On the walls are photographs of a mountain family, shot in nearby Sylva by photographer Jim Ayres.
